So…apparently its common knowledge to every else (except Kyle and I of course)…but Weims are exceddingly super energetic, very intelligent, incredibly messy drinkers, and require a minimum of 2+ miles of exercise/day once they reach one year. Its funny that every time we go to the vet and people are oohing and awhhhing over him, those who own/or have previously owned Weims, “wish us good luck”. Uhmmmm…what are they trying to tell us?!?!?!
Anyway, there is a local WCA (weimaraner club) here in Kent that meets monthly to let their pups track (we’re still deciding if we want him learning to bring dead squirrels or roadkill to our front porch at this point), but the President of the club + our vet both recommended that we start playing Hide-N-Seek with Dexter. Apparently, it allows them to use their instinctive tracking skills while making them “think” a bit. Anyway, we were hesitant at first…I mean there are young humans who don’t grasp the concept of “finding” someone. Regardless, we tried it out yesterday and again today! First, we hid treats around the house and let him track them down and then of course I hid and made him find me too. He loved it and is actually pretty awesome at it!!
Pink-ish speck on the left floorboard (look where his tail is pointing kinda)
