Where does time go?

Its hard to believe that at this time last year we were setting up for our wedding reception; counting chairs, organizing glasses for the bar, making quick trips to Lowes for light bulbs, getting flowers released from customs at IAH, and finally enjoying the rehearsal dinner with friends and family.  Months of planning and it was all over in the blink of an eye.  It flew by, one minute we were setting up chairs and the next we were in Paris.  If I had one piece of advice to offer those of you getting married in the future...consider having a traditional Jewish wedding.  Why?  An entire week of feasts and celebrating!

Every bride and groom (and their families) devote countless hours to planning, but on the big day there are moments you didn't plan for, that make you smile.  A few of mine:  finding a note from Kyle hidden in my bouquet, not being able to put on Kyle's ring during the ceremony, Wedding Crashers, an extra-large pair of undergarments making an appearance during the garter toss, and having Jimbo and Bruce push us up the gravel hill in the skate car when it couldn't make it.

Many people will tell you their wedding was a blur, but I remember every minute:  my mom putting my veil in my hair, Kelc helping me into my dress, walking down the aisle towards Kyle, asking him 100 times when the music was going to change during our first dance, cutting our cake, dancing with my Dad, the Grand March, the toasts, throwing my bouquet, the sparklers...(the smoke), I could go on forever....but I will spare your eyes :)  It was an amazing day and it really did feel like a fairytale being surrounded with love from our friends and family.  Crazy to look at pictures and realize that it all happened a year ago... and what a wonderful, crazy year it has been here in Ohio, but we love every minute and look forward to many, many more :)
